Born June 25, 1920, died peacefully in his sleep in his 98th year on November 13, 2018. Survived by his children Dawn (David) Campbell, Brian (Evelina) MacEachern, Laurie (John) Hamilton, and RuthAnne (Bernard) MacEachern; his grandchildren Lindsay (Randy) McMaster, Leslie (Jaime) Coulter, Shawn MacEachern and Kaitlyn MacEachern; and his great grandchildren Lauren McMaster, Ryan McMaster, Charlotte Coulter and Casey Coulter.

Ian had a great love of Bruce Beach with many fond memories. He established the first "Men of the Trees" in Canada and planted over 3,000 trees in Tout's Grove and the surrounding area. His father, Allan MacEachern, wrote the words for many of the Bruce Beach concerts, including "A History of Bruce Beach#Bruce Beach will shine tonight". Ian was the sole publisher of the first A History of Bruce Beach book.
